University of Southampton's Chamber Opera Society presents their understated version of The Pearl Fisher's composed by Georges Bizet in 1863
A tale of forbidden lovers, death and unrequited love set on the Sri Lankan shore showcases the societies hard work, dedication and vocal ability. Lead roles are played by the wonderful Alexandra Peica, Hannah Murray and Fran Millinson, and supported by an amazing chorus of two people per part.
The oldest public building in Southampton, it provides a beautiful venue with brilliant acoustics and a historic surrounding.

We are a small-scale opera company dedicated to creating full productions of small operas. We aim primarily to give performers, directors, producers and all others aspiring for jobs within the theatre or opera industry a chance to explore these roles and work together to create a musical spectacle. Our productions thus far include Purcell's Dido and Aeneas (2016), Handel's Acis and Galatea (2017) and Gluck's Orpheus (2017). Our next show will be Bizet's Pearl Fisher's which will take place in February 2018, with rehearsals starting in October 2017.
