Chamber Opera Society

We are a small-scale opera company dedicated to creating full productions of small operas. We aim primarily to give performers, directors, producers and all others aspiring for jobs within the theatre or opera industry a chance to explore these roles and work together to create a musical spectacle. Our productions thus far include Purcell's Dido and Aeneas (2016), Handel's Acis and Galatea (2017) and Gluck's Orpheus (2017). Our next show will be Bizet's Pearl Fisher's which will take place in February 2018, with rehearsals starting in October 2017.

We have an unauditioned chorus but will be holding auditions for the principle roles, please do not hesitate to contact us with any queries regarding involvement as a singer, member of the orchestra or part of the production team at chopera@soton.ac.uk.
