Dabke is an Arab folk dance that is performed mostly in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Jordan. Through Dabke we are able to illustrate the uni-fied struggles of the Middle Eastern people and overcome hardship through lively music.
We will be learning this through regular sessions where we will teach you the basics of Dabke. These are on Thursdays, in the MPS, from 9 - 10pm. We will also be reaching beyond Southampton both in the form of our annual tour and by performing in other Dabke performances accross the country.
Our taster sesion is on the 5 thof October, in the Activities Room, from 7 - 8pm. Do come along, Dabke is a great way to have fun and de-stress from all your studies.
