'The course of true love never did run smooth...' SUSU Theatre Group invites you to experience the humour and beauty of one of Shakespeare's timeless classics. As Duke Theseus prepares to marry Hippolyta, Lysander and Hermia flee to the forest in pursuit of love, pursued by Demetrius, who himself is being pursued by Helena. As the forest is torn asunder by the marital strife of the fairy monarchs Titania and Oberon, a group of would-be thespians rehearse in preparation for the Duke's nuptials. As Puck, Oberon's factotum, makes a mess of the already-muddled situation between the lovers, Peter Quince and Nick Bottom strive over artistic control of their production of 'Pyramus & Thisbe'. This first outing for Theatre Group's freshers promises to be a theatrical delight for the eye, ear, and mind.
