Twelfth Night

Show
A production by Theatre Group

Written by William Shakespeare

Whilst the seas rage amidst the battles of World War Two, Viola has been washed up on the foreign shores of Illyria

Her ship has been torpedoed and she fears her twin brother Sebastian has been drowned. During these uncertain times of war she decides to protect herself by dressing up as a boy and joining the Illyria navy under its Captain, the Duke Orsino. However naval life proves troublesome when the object of Orsino's affections, the Lady Olivia, falls in love with Viola, whilst Viola herself loves her master, Orsino. The arrival of the presumed drowned Sebastian brings further confusion, and along with the actions of Olivia's drunken uncle, an idiotic knight, a pompous servant and a sailor with a chequered past, the Illyria homefront becomes as chaotic and precarious as the frontline.
